A Lazy Week

This week my plan to look for a job and to be creativity kind of back fired.

On Monday I went into town and around a few agencys. One of them was helpful and I easily registered with them. Another wasn't very helpful as they said they would take my details but they doubt they'll be able to find me work. Then the final one I went to I had to go back to the next day. So I went back and registered and similar to the agency before, did not sound very positive. The problem is that I want office-based work but I don't have any experience of working in that enviroment, so anything I do get will be basic work like data-input, which is something I would be fine with.

Wednesday I chilled out in the garden with my iPod and a book called "Nothing Feels Good: Punk Rock, Teenagers and Emo" by Andy Greenwald. I brought it a few months back and then I stopped reading it due to the lack of time I had because all the stuff happening at the end of Uni. Greenwald tells of how "emo" music developed and where it originated. Its a few years old and does not mention any of the so-called "emo" bands of the moment. It focuses on band's such as Dashboard Confessional, Thursday, Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday. It also talks about various record labels such as Vagrant and Drive-Thru. It was rather nice spending time in garden with a book and listening to The New Amsterdams.

The past few days have just been based around drinking for some unknown reason. Thursday I went out with some friends. Town was dead which was unusual for a Thursday, however Newark's only nightclub is currently closed for it's re-launch next week. It's being renamed Time and Glitterball and sounds so crap. Time is going to be the modern bit and Glitterball is going to be playing 70/80's stuff. It will be crap and the same people will go there. Anyway I got soaked whilst I was walking into town in the rain. I've never realised how far town is from my house, I think it's because I'm used to the distance I used to walk when I lived in York, which wasn't far.

I was out again on Friday with some other friends. It was nice to see some people I hadn't seen that much of lately and the same goes for last night (Saturday) as I was with some old school friends who I havn't seen much for about a year or so.

Lately I've been a bit confused about a situation which I'm going through at the moment. I just wish certain situations weren't as complicated as they are. I was find this frustrating and most of the time find it hard to understand why things are the way they are. I try and be nice and friendly etc but it never seems to get me anywhere but I do have some good friends who I know I can rely on and appreciate me for who I am.

I got bored and decided to make myself on WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008. This is a piss take of myself. I'm not really this big headed.

Interview, dressing up and recovery

So the past week I had my first job interview; well the first one I've had since finishing Uni. The interview took place at a company called Flowserve, they make pumps and stuff like that. The job for position of documentation clerk. I was pretty nervous throughout the interview and it didn't help when I was asked some difficult questions like "sum yourself up as a person?" and "what is your greatest achievement?". I sat there thinking WTF? but now I look back on it and I think I could of said a number of things:

1. Getting a degree from University.
2. Making 3 skateboard video.(They might not be anything special but I'm still proud I made them).
3. Survivng birth. I was very close to being born still-born and was born prematurly by 2months and was in hospital for the firs 3 months of my life and the doctors called me a 'miracle baby'.

Anyway the interview finished and I knew as I left I wouldn't get the job and guess what? I didn't. When I heard it kinda ruined my day and knocked my confidence a little bit.

However I'm not going to give up and tomorrow I plan on continuing looking for a job. I'm even considering looking for a job in Lincoln or Nottingham, but I think this could become problematic as I don't drive and the only means of getting to either place would be by train or perhaps the bus. It could be a problem because if a train or bus was late I could be late for work.

Anyway I'm still getting a bit of income, as I did some agency work at afactory for a couple of days. It's not the best job in the world but it gives me something to do and time to think. At work I think about all sort of stuff, the future, people, the past and a bit of day dreaming.

Now on to the dressing up bit. Last night (saturday) was a friend's 21st Birthday and we all dressed up in fancy dress outfits. I dressed as a doctor/surgeon. It was a good night but my memory is a bit blurry, oops!

That leads on to the recovery which would be today and it didn't help with this ridiculous hot weather we're having at the moment.I felt like passing out at one point.I've spent most of the day watching all sorts of stuff on youtube, especially the Mighty Boosh, which I have really grown to like lately.

For the next week I'm going to plan on doing something creative but I'm not sure what yet though. I've always wanted to write a screenplay but I've never got round to it.I know what the basis of what it would be there. It would be a teen comedy/drama type thing based in my hometown. The characters would be late teens or early 20's, with the main focus being on a group 4 or so lads and we would follow them through their lives.

I Was Expecting This All Along

So I've finally started lectures in my final year of University. Lectures are as normal, a bit lame and boring but it what I was expecting. I was also expecting that this year would involve alot of work, which I can't avoid or hold back on.

So I've decided I'm going to get myself in to some form of routine. The plan is to get up early etc, read/work, food, gym(im going to start going again), read and then chill etc.
I've got to get my head down but also enjoy my final year as a Uni student. I'm still unsure if I want to become a Rugby League Social member, which basically means i attend all the Rugby League socials, which is basically a piss-up (y).However since Ive attended afew, I know they're alot of fun, so might give it a go.

First Week back

Monday-Wednesday went out all 3 nights.
Amazing time, was glad to be back in York.
Had lots and lots of drink, made a few druken txts and saw some people I can't remember seeing at the time,lol.

Chilled out Thursday and Friday.

Stayed in and watched Heroes, only got 5 more episodes to go (y)!

Saturday went to a mates and watched the rugby, Engalnd won 44-22.
then went to the student union and watched some rugby league,I was kinda bored, so went home and watched the football instead.

Lectures start on tuesday, I'm not as nervous as I was about my final year as I was awhile back.BRING IT ON!

I'm gutted I probably won't be able to go to Give It A Name next year, as it is just before m final exams.

ITS MY BIRTHDAY IN A MONTH!!!!!!

Back To York

Hey

I'm back in York for my third and final year of University. I'm having mixed feelings about my third year. I'm happy that it's my final year but also I'm nervous about it because it's a really important year for me.

The end of my summer in Newark was really good. I finished my skateboard video, which can be found here and I went to 2 friends 21st birthdays partys.

It's my 21st in 5 weeks, can't wait.

Weekend Off

So today was the first of two days off work.

My plan was just to go down the park and chill with a few mates and skate etc.However in the end about 10 of us packed into 2 cars and went to a park in Leicestershire in a place called Melton Mawbury.

The park was great,I didnt like it much at first, took me quite awhile to get used to.So i did a bit of filming.I filmed some of the bmxers who had gone there earlier in the day.

After awhile i started skatin and had a great day.Defintly wanna go there again.

Also:

some little kid tried to nick my new phone.
mum came back from holiday and brought me some chocolates :@
i wanted some fuckin alcohol.
